Get To Know Me

IMG_9657

I have always been excited to face off with challenges and find solutions to problems.

That’s probably why web development has turned out to be a match made in heaven for me. Every challenge I overcome teaches me new skills and makes me excited to push even further and continue to evolve my craft.

I’ve been working in the tech world since 2010, and have been ecstatic to experiment with both agency and freelance web development work since that time.

Roles I’m Looking For

If you think I may be a good fit for a position you’re hiring for, don’t hesitate to reach out to me! I’m open to the conversation, even if it’s a casual introduction. Some positions I’m interested include:

Industry Specialties

I have experience supporting a multitude of industries and I’m happy to support any company in need. With that being said, I do have a passion for SaaS, legal, and healthcare companies.

Design with Passion

Telling your brand’s story using website design, solid site architecture, and a winning strategy.

Striking a Balance Between Art and Efficacy

Your website isn’t just a brochure, it also needs to do the work to help customers find you so you can reel them in.

My Skills

Software Expertise

Professional Background

I graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science simply because I wanted to know everything about how the internet works. While that was a great starting point for learning how to code and build out a website, I still had questions. For example, as a student who started out with front end web development, I had no idea how to launch a website.

I was always creating web pages offline, and after nailing some essential skills, this became the newest thing I just had to learn. At this time, I was working as a virtual assistant and in my spare time I continued doing research. After developing a single HTML page, I put my heart into publishing it online.

My success on that one seemingly small task is what officially started my journey as a web developer. After figuring out how to do that, I realized that it doesn’t matter how difficult a task is or how much expertise I have going into a project—with a curious mind and a passion for finding answers, there’s no web dev challenge I can’t complete.

As a WordPress Support Technician, I can confidently say I know this CMS inside and out. I love using this platform because of its variability, simplicity, scalability, and accessibility to businesses of all sizes and budgets.

This position showed me the beauty of hunting down the cause of a problem, generating thoughtful solutions, and how to make something truly exceptional, even when I’m starting with a stock template.

As a support specialist, I frequently:

  • Set up new customer websites while adhering to web dev and SEO best practices
  • Made updates and repairs
  • Helped expand upon and optimize crucial webpages
  • Provided top-of-the-line customer care

Whenever possible, I also took the initiative to seek out and fix problems before the client found them to ensure a more positive experience with our company.

Sep 2010 - Oct 2-13
Ellis Global, Inc

As a freelancer tasked with varying jobs, I was introduced to several elements of the tech industry and learned what it takes to make a company functional and ensure that projects stay on track.

During this time, I set up WordPress installations on cPanel, managed HTML and CSS files, and deployed them using FTP or cPanel.

As a freelancer, I gained experience:

  • Helping clients set up ebooks
  • Editing content
  • Creating downloadable digital products
  • Setting up online stores using ECWID and WordPress
  • Setting up payment systems

WordPress Developer and Head of Customer Support

Oct 2011 - Sep 2018
Wealthy Academy LTD

My experiences as a WP developer and customer support lead helped me hone my coding skills and explore what it means to create a “user-friendly” website.

I originally began working with this company as a freelance web developer building company websites using WordPress. At this time, we often used the theme Genesis and provided custom functions along with setup and design.

During my time with this company I helped:

  • Manage support tickets using Zendesk
  • Create a knowledge-based system for clients
  • Respond to clients and kept them up-to-date
